Meet Emilie Holmes, founder of Good & Proper Tea – our Startup of the Week.
The Elevator Pitch Series
Good & Proper Tea want to revolutionise the way we enjoy a cuppa in the capital.
Emilie Holmes raised almost £15,000 on Kickstarter, and hopes to become the ‘Monmouth coffee’ of tea.
The project backers enabled her to convert her vintage Citreon van into a fully fledged mobile teahouse.
Latest developments
- Emilie is up and running at Kings cross every week (Tues-Friday). And every Saturday she’s at Brockley market in South London
- Kickstarter backers are still coming to see the finished product. Emilie says:
“It’s been fantastic to get going – I still get a real buzz every time someone tells me they loved their tea or tweets about it afterwards, or even just by people coming back every day for their morning cuppa. It makes it all worth it. And everyone seems to get the concept and what I’m trying to do which is good”. - Good & Proper Tea now offer a #tworder initiative – where customers can order their tea via Twitter, so when they come out of Kings Cross Station their brew will be perfectly steeped and waiting for them when they pass.
