AI-powered sustainable real estate analytics firm Infogrid has appointed the co-founder of US climate tech unicorn Arcadia as its new CEO.
Kate Henningsen will take over as CEO of London-based Infogrid, which last year closed a £72.4m Series B round.
Henningsen launched Arcadia in 2015 and served as the firm’s COO for nine years. During her tenure, the company secured a $1.5bn valuation after a $200m investment in 2022 led by JP Morgan.
She will now oversee the next phase of Infogrid’s growth. Infogrid analyses the climate efficiency of buildings, looking for ways to reduce emissions and waste, along with cutting costs.
“Infogrid’s growth to date coincides with a transformative moment for the built world. The company’s technology future-proofs any building and delivers a solution not otherwise available in the market,” Henningsen said.
“I’ve made decarbonising the world the goal of my professional life and I’m thrilled to be joining Infogrid at this critical moment to help real estate organisations reduce their carbon footprint.
“As an industry, the built world now has a technology that can make an impact at scale, rather than addressing isolated issues.”
Data published in December found that UK venture capital firms invested over $1bn in early-stage built world climate tech in 2023, the third-most in the world. It came in a year in which climate and energy startups were the best-funded in the UK.
Alongside the appointment of Henningsen, Infogrid has brought on four new board directors, all with backgrounds in sustainability.
