London-based reputation and risk management company Signal AI has acquired London and New York-based Social 360.

Signal AI generates brand insights for clients based on analysis of large volumes of data. The product is used to track the sentiment of companies, identify and monitor trends and receive alerts for relevant breaking news.

The company said it now works with more than 40% of Fortune 500 companies across 226 markets and 75 languages.

Signal AI will integrate the technology and data sources of Social 360, which similarly provides clients with reputation management and insights, into its own portfolio.

Signal AI, which raised $50m in 2021, aims to consolidate the sources for the combined billions of data points analysed by the two companies. Signal AI will also expand its product offering to include Social 360’s corporate influencer monitoring tool.

“With Social 360’s capabilities and billions of data points integrated into our AI-powered platform, we are creating a new standard for reputation and risk management,” said David Benigson, CEO of Signal AI.

Ryszard Bublik, CEO of Social 360, said the deal will give “clients unique visibility of the issues that matter for reputation and risk. The coming together of our different, innovative data sets will create a new model for digital monitoring”.

The value of the acquisition was not disclosed, however, Dealroom estimates the value of Social 360 at between $9m and $13m based on a £1.7m funding round in 2017.
