Generative AI startup AudioStack, which creates voice productions based on user prompts, has raised £2.5m.
Based in London, AudioStack’s primary product is for the digital marketing space. Clients – which include McDonald’s, Canva and Mountain Dew – input text prompts and AudioStack generates ads featuring AI voiceover and music.
AudioStack can also be used to create other forms of professional content creation such as webinars and podcasts. The technology for the generated content comes from partner AI firms including ElevenLabs, which was valued at more than $1bn after closing a £63m funding round in January.
“This funding round will enable us to continue our global growth and double down on the business cases that are working so well,” said co-founder Dr Timo Kunz.
“We have been helping our customers realise enormous savings throughout their creative processes while enabling them to massively scale the output of their production to levels they never dreamed of, allowing us to supercharge creativity.”
The round was led by Quadri Ventures and supported by existing investors such as former AdsWizz CEO Alexis van de Wyer.
“AudioStack is setting a new standard for audio production and aims to become the leading infrastructure for audio production globally,” said Quadri Ventures principal Andrew Drylie.
“They have an incredible team who have revolutionised an antiquated industry with a category-creating generative AI solution.”
Voice synthesis has become one of the most popular use cases for generative AI. The prevalence of AI voiceover work has, however, been a key area of concern for those representing real-life voice actors, such as the performing arts union Equity.
